WHY SHOULD YOU TRY TO BUILD YOUR CUSTOMER'S TRUST?

Everyday we hear that the economy is tough. I think that it is just changing....

Because of the period that we experienced with high gasoline prices, we all learned to modify our behavior. Now that gasoline prices have dropped much lower, we are not so quick to give up the savings that those modifications gave us.

This "New Economy" has developed faster and faster because of advancements in technology. These advancements allow us to access the Internet much faster, even from our cell phones. The convenience of shopping, banking, and socializing online is creating a change in the way we do business. If we embrace these changes, modify our behaviors, and change our thinking, we can benefit in this new economy.

Change #1 - Realize that eCommerce is growing like crazy. Having a business website is as important as having a business telephone.

Change #2 - Building trust with your customers is the best way to create repeat business and referrals. Keeping a customer is usually much cheaper than the cost of getting a new customer, so begin your relationships with your customers by gaining their trust.

Change #3 - Customers want follow up information to be easily accessible. Put helpful information on your website for "after the sale" support.

Change #4 - Take advantage of as many of the new technologies as you can comfortably include. Small business owners often try to do it themselves for every area of their business. Don't try to re-invent the wheel every time a new technological advancement occurs. This will make you crazy. Utilize service providers who can do the work for you.

In our next issue, we will take a look at ways to build trust with your customers. Of course you know that I'm going to recommend using video, but I also have other great ideas that are simple and easy to implement.
